Detecting active faults in intramountain basins using electrical resistivity tomography: A focus on Kashmir Basin, NW Himalaya
The Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) was used to detect the active faults in the intermountain basin of Kashmir in the NW Himalaya. We were able to detect two secondary active normal faults at two survey sites in the northwestern part of the Kashmir basin and were named as named NW Kashmir fault and Delina fault. These faults are proposed to be secondary shallow faults, whereas, the deep main (thrust?) fault system is buried and does not reach the surface. This proposition is supported by the indication of rapid upliftment of the Karewa sediments around the survey sites. The Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) thus, proves to be a highly applicable method for detecting the active faults in intramountain basins.

Neogene Restoration of Geometry of the Neotethyan suture zone in Central Anatolia (Turkey).
Palaeomagnetic results from 40 new sites and 27 previously published sites show evidence for a significant amount of rotations in Central Anatolia since Miocene. These results point out that currently almost E-W/WNW-ESE trending Neotethyan Suture Belts (Inner Tauride and Ankara-Erzincan Suture Zones) in the region prior to the late Miocene were almost N-S trending belts.

Preliminary Study of the Manabhum Anticline: A Possible Key to Better Understanding the Quaternary Tectonics of the Eastern Himalayan Syntaxial Zone.
The paper focuses on the development of an anticline at the foreland area of Eastern Himalayan Syntaxis (EHS) during Quaternary time. It establishes the deformation geometry of the hill as well as the timing of deposition and deformation of strata. It is interpreted that the hill is growing as a ramp anticline over an easterly dipping thrust parallel to Mishmi thrust which is an integral part of EHS. As it is showing the recent deformation signature in the vicinity of the EHS, it can be used as a tool to understand the whole scenario of EHS during Quaternary time.
